Submission Guidelines & Deadlines
Attention local civic organizations and nonprofits in the WRIP listening area.
The WRIP Datebook is compiled each week, updated frequently, bur not daily. Please DO NOT wait until the week your event is scheduled to take place to submit your information. Please proofread your submission to ensure that everything is correct and complete.
If you would like to have your nonprofit and charity fundraiser events added to the WRIP online datebook and announced on the air, please send the information to WRIP979@gmail.com at least 2 weeks prior to the event, and certainly no later than 1 week in advance, to allow us time to sufficiently promote it. Information may also be mailed to WRIP, PO Box 979, Windham, NY 12496, or dropped off at our studio at 265 South Street in Windham. Please DO NOT send notices of events through Facebook Messenger.
Flyers for your event may be posted on our WRIP979 Facebook page, however, the attachment must be sent as a JPG or PNG image only as these are the only compatible formats.
Please remember to include ALL of the following information, if applicable:
- WHO is sponsoring the event and who benefits from ticket sales? (Name of your organization.)
- WHAT is the event? (Serving breakfast, lunch or dinner? Tell us what’s on the menu.)
- WHEN is your event being held? (Day of the week, date and time.)
- WHERE is it being held? (Name of building, street address and town.)
- WHY is the event being held? (Is it a fundraiser?)
- HOW MUCH is admission? (Prices for adults, children, seniors, members, donation, free will offering, or free.)
Please include a contact number with area code, website and/or email address, and any other pertinent details. Make sure your website link works. Don’t make visitors click on half a dozen links before they can get to the information about your event.
Submissions are welcome from area not-for-profit organizations, civic groups, local police, fire and rescue squads, and all local churches. If you can hear us, we want to publicize your events.
PLEASE NOTE: Organizations that seek our free publicity in the Datebook, but place paid advertising elsewhere, are asked to give equal consideration to WRIP. We will pull any public service announcement we see run as paid advertising elsewhere. Organizations with event marketing budgets are urged to contact us about extremely low-cost radio ads for your event(s).

The Greene County Historical Society’s 46th Annual Tour of Homes will be held Saturday, June 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year’s tour will showcase the diverse heritage and geography of the Town of New Baltimore. Tour sites will include a range of historic locations from the river to the hills and from hamlet to farm. Tour headquarters will be at the New Baltimore Town Hall, approximately one mile west of Route 9W on CR51.
Tickets are $30 the day of the tour and $25 in advance. Participants will receive a brochure with information about the sites along with a marked route map. FREE YOUTH HEALTH FAIR. Saturday, June 6, from 10:00am – 2:00pm at Historic Catskill Point, 1 Main Street in Catskill Rain or Shine. This event highlights services and supports for children with special needs. All children and families are welcome. Connect with local organizations and discover resources for your child. Floats, line up on South Street at the beginning of the intersection with Route 296. Fire companies line up on Route 296 Northbound, next to Alpine Garden Village.

Old Fashioned Community Picnic Day Saturday, July 4 at Coxsackie Riverside Park, 1 Betke Boulevard in Coxsackie (on the Hudson!) Join in the celebration of the USA 250th Independence Anniversary. Games, music, food, and fun, from 3 p.m.–10 p.m. (fireworks tentatively set for 9:30 p.m.). Come down and spend the afternoon and evening, pitch a tent, bring games, enjoy great food and drink from local vendors and food trucks, or BBQ on your own. Music by local musician Luke Barnhart, and then The Ultimates will headline! Fireworks displays all up and down the Hudson River, and Hudson Valley are being coordinated to all go off at the same time. So, the exact time will be announced as soon as we know. The games, music, and fireworks are all free! Come and enjoy the day and celebrate!

Support the Arts on the Mountaintop! The Catskill Mountain Foundation Annual Benefit is set for Sunday, July 12, 2026, from 12:00pm at the Orpheum Performing Arts Center, Main Street in Tannersville. This event features performances from local dancers, actors, and the New York City Ballet. The evening features special performances by: The 77th NY Regimental Balladeers, The Providence Brigade Band, Pianist Helen Beedle, The Susquehanna Travelers, The Michael Benedict Jazz Orchestra, The Larsen Street Trio, The Catskill Ukulele Group, Don Dwyer – “The Irish Volunteer” and President Abraham Lincoln – portrayed by Phil Jessen.
