Submission Guidelines & Deadlines
Attention local civic organizations and nonprofits in the WRIP listening area.
The WRIP Datebook is compiled each week, updated frequently, bur not daily. Please DO NOT wait until the week your event is scheduled to take place to submit your information. Please proofread your submission to ensure that everything is correct and complete.
If you would like to have your nonprofit and charity fundraiser events added to the WRIP online datebook and announced on the air, please send the information to WRIP979@gmail.com at least 2 weeks prior to the event, and certainly no later than 1 week in advance, to allow us time to sufficiently promote it. Information may also be mailed to WRIP, PO Box 979, Windham, NY 12496, or dropped off at our studio at 265 South Street in Windham. Please DO NOT send notices of events through Facebook Messenger.
Flyers for your event may be posted on our WRIP979 Facebook page, however, the attachment must be sent as a JPG or PNG image only as these are the only compatible formats.
Please remember to include ALL of the following information, if applicable:
- WHO is sponsoring the event and who benefits from ticket sales? (Name of your organization.)
- WHAT is the event? (Serving breakfast, lunch or dinner? Tell us what’s on the menu.)
- WHEN is your event being held? (Day of the week, date and time.)
- WHERE is it being held? (Name of building, street address and town.)
- WHY is the event being held? (Is it a fundraiser?)
- HOW MUCH is admission? (Prices for adults, children, seniors, members, donation, free will offering, or free.)
Please include a contact number with area code, website and/or email address, and any other pertinent details. Make sure your website link works. Don’t make visitors click on half a dozen links before they can get to the information about your event.
Submissions are welcome from area not-for-profit organizations, civic groups, local police, fire and rescue squads, and all local churches. If you can hear us, we want to publicize your events.
PLEASE NOTE: Organizations that seek our free publicity in the Datebook, but place paid advertising elsewhere, are asked to give equal consideration to WRIP. We will pull any public service announcement we see run as paid advertising elsewhere. Organizations with event marketing budgets are urged to contact us about extremely low-cost radio ads for your event(s).

The 20th Annual Oak Hill Day is this Saturday, July 25th from 9am to 3pm. The day begins with many lawn sales being held throughout hamlet (look for the brightly colored signs). At 1pm, stop by the Oak Hill United Methodist Church and hear talks about The Oak Ridge Runners race car group and Growing Up in Oak Hill.
At 3pm, there will be ice cream from Stewart’s and music from the Twelve Tribes. The Red Wood Fired Pizza truck The Pizza Box is coming back to Oak Hill, parked near the Methodist Church and the I.U. Tripp Antique store. First pizzas will come out the oven starting at 11am until they sell out!
The Mountaintop Historical Society is hosting a Family Fun Day – an afternoon of games and live music – at the historic 1913 Ulster and Delaware Train Station, on the MTHS grounds in Haines Falls, from 4:00pm – 6:00pm. The Catskill Mountain String Band will play their timeless blend of bluegrass and old-time music with a dash of Classic Country! Tickets are now available for The Greene County Women’s Cancer League’s New August Luncheon happening on Thursday, August 13th at Anthony’s Banquet Hall in Catskill. Doors open at 11am and the event is from 12-3pm. Pianist Laura Chapman will be playing throughout the event. A delicious buffet lunch will be served and everyone attending will be able to take a chance on taking home some beautiful and bountiful baskets full of magnificent items that will be raffled off. Greene County Women’s League is a not-for-profit organization made up of volunteers that raise funds throughout the year to assist those in Greene County struggling with Cancer. They are currently helping over 60 individuals. Recently they were able to increase their per patient amount from $5000 to $6000. This increase is because of our community; the local businesses, individuals, as well as participants attending their FUNdraisers throughout the year. Their goal is to raise $12,000 from this event.

The fire department is located off of county rt 17 or just follow your nose. Menu : half Brooks special bbq chicken grilled right before your eyes,baked potato, homemade cole slaw, Story’s corn on the cob, Jim’s Great American fresh made dinner roll, and a Cosmic Brownie for dessert. Ashland Fire Department Annual Impossible Pin Golf Tournament on Friday, August 21, 2026 at Christman’s Windham House Mounrain 18 Course. This event benefits the Westchester Medical Burn Center. $125 per golfer includes 18 holes, carts, greens fees, dinner and prizes. There is a 10am shoutgun start, scramble format, with a chipping contest, long drives and other contests on the course. Food and Beverages on the course are courtesy of Hensonville Hose Company. Organizers have recommended that each team include a fire or EMS member, but that rule is no longer mandatory.
